Hunt Details:
DOC-approved access through a locked gate
Limited to 12 hunters
Primary species: Red Deer
Chamois and pigs are also present in the area

Access Requirements:
A 4WD vehicle with high ground clearance is required to travel over Maling Pass to the Waiau River car park.
Mountain bikes or e-bikes are recommended for travel to the huts downstream on both sides of the Waiau River, although walking is also an option.
Shared transport is encouraged where possible.
No quad bikes or motorbikes are permitted by DOC.
